The Alex Fraser bridge from Delta to Annacis Island when first built was one of the longest cable bridges in the world. I remember watching it being built while I practiced driving around Annacis during the construction. Underneath this behemoth I learned that you should never brake hard on gravel, the hard way. Fortunately my little car didn’t end up wrapped around one of the pylons.
Suspension bridges are some of the most photogenic I think.
